Buster the Bus helped kick off the celebration in a big way, leading the first school bus into the building as students arrived for their first day. Students were greeted with cheers, pom-poms, high-fives, and enthusiastic welcomes from staff and local VIPs.

The first day was especially meaningful for Principal Katie Scharpf, who greeted her new students as she began her first year as principal of Bel Air Elementary School. She welcomed students and families with the excitement and warmth that made the morning such a memorable start to the new school year.

Superintendent Dyann R. Mack also joined the celebration at Bel Air Elementary School, making the school particularly special for another reason: it was Dr. Mack's first school as principal. Returning to the school to welcome students and celebrate the first day made the occasion a meaningful full-circle moment.
